Sure, I’ve been known to pour a beer into the wrong glassware or served it at the wrong temperature (sometimes you just can’t wait). But I love beer! I won’t be certified as a beer sommelier anytime soon. What I lack in knowledge I make up for with a healthy dose of enthusiasm and a need to learn something new. You know everything there is to know about your beer – teach me!

Since I can’t drink beer all the time, I’ve had to keep myself occupied with other things as well: Professionally, I’ve spent the last 15-ish years working in marketing in some form or other. I’ve done stints in pharmaceuticals, high tech and for the last 7 years in food. I have a proven track record of introducing new products and selling to major grocery chains (like Albertson’s), big box retailers (like Wal-mart) as well as to smaller, fiercely independent grocers and restaurants. I know what it takes to get a product to market.

Aside from learning at the school of life, my formal education includes a Bachelor of Commerce and MBA from McMaster University (Hamilton, ON) and a Culinary Skills Diploma from Humber College (Toronto, ON).

I’m lucky to have married the love of my life, Linda. Together we have one son (Ben) and a just-arrived daughter (Finley)! We live in downtown Toronto with our lazy French bulldog Otis. We recently lost our darling spaniel Lucy (it would feel weird not to mention her).

In my spare time I like to force my musical tastes on other people and work on perfecting my recipe for BBQ ribs.

Please drop me a line. Would love to chat.
